Przyimki czasu: ćwiczenia z odpowiedziami i karta pracy PDF

Kiedy mówisz o czasie, po angielsku prawie zawsze potrzebujesz małego słowa: in June, on Friday, at 7:30. Czasem nie potrzebujesz żadnego, bo mówisz po prostu next week. Na początek masz krótkie zasady, a pod nimi 53 zadania w sześciu zestawach: in, on i at, zwroty bez przyimka oraz for, during, until i by.

In: miesiące, lata, pory roku i pory dnia

In stawiasz przy dłuższych okresach: miesiącach, latach, porach roku. Tak samo mówisz in the morning, in the afternoon i in the evening. In znaczy też „za” jakiś czas: in ten minutes.

  • I started this job in 2021. (Zacząłem tę pracę w 2021 roku.)
  • We usually travel in the summer. (Zwykle podróżujemy latem.)
  • I’ll be back in ten minutes. (Wrócę za dziesięć minut.)

On: dni i daty

On stoi przy dniach tygodnia, datach i konkretnych dniach, nawet jeśli dodajesz porę dnia: on Monday morning, on Christmas Day.

  • The dentist appointment is on Thursday. (Wizyta u dentysty jest w czwartek.)
  • Our anniversary is on June 12th. (Naszą rocznicę mamy 12 czerwca.)
  • Let’s have dinner on Saturday night. (Zjedzmy kolację w sobotę wieczorem.)

At: godziny i konkretne momenty

At stawiasz przy godzinach i krótkich punktach w czasie: at noon, at midnight, at lunchtime, at night, at the end of the day.

  • My flight leaves at 5:40. (Mój samolot odlatuje o 5:40.)
  • I usually check my email at lunchtime. (Zwykle sprawdzam pocztę w porze lunchu.)
  • I’m always tired at the end of the day. (Pod koniec dnia zawsze jestem zmęczony.)

Bez przyimka: next, last, this, every, tomorrow, yesterday

Przed tymi słowami nie dajesz in, on ani at. Mówisz next week, last year, this morning, every Wednesday. To jeden z najczęstszych błędów Polaków.

  • We bought a new car last month. (Kupiliśmy nowy samochód w zeszłym miesiącu.)
  • I’m working from home this morning. (Dziś rano pracuję z domu.)
  • Call me tomorrow afternoon. (Zadzwoń do mnie jutro po południu.)

For, during, until, by

For mówi, jak długo coś trwa (for two hours). During mówi, w trakcie czego (during the meeting). Until to „aż do” jakiejś chwili, a by to „najpóźniej do”, czyli termin.

  • We waited for an hour. (Czekaliśmy godzinę.)
  • My phone rang during the meeting. (Telefon zadzwonił mi w trakcie spotkania.)
  • The store is open until 10 p.m. (Sklep jest otwarty do 22.)
  • Please send it by Friday. (Wyślij to, proszę, najpóźniej do piątku.)
